Day Two at The Voiles de Saint Tropez
Strong winds & high seas forecast for the second day running
With swells estimated at more than 2 metres in the Gulf of Saint Tropez the sailboats were out in great numbers for the days racing.
The Annual Voiles de Saint Tropez offers visitors the chance to see both traditional and modern yachts together in the beautiful setting of Saint Tropez. A host of racers and sailing enthusiasts come from all the corners of the globe to do battle in this exciting event and this years edition has not let them down!
The strong winds and violent seas may have created the perfect play ground for the 180 modern yachts that took on 20 miles of racing in exciting conditions, but it has however proved prohibitive for the tradition sail boasts. The fleet of classic sail boats have remained quietly in the harbour, hoping for better weather in the coming days and impatient for their battle to commence.
No doubt the rest of the week will bring some tense times and some fantastic racing!
