To celebrate 70 years of the iconic Cannes Film Festival, 113 leading figures from the world of film came together for one amazing photocall.

Set up on a tiered stage current and past jury members, actors, actresses, directors and producers took their places behind a front row of cinema royalty and prestigious Palme d'Or winners. After taking some half an hour for the stars to gather and take their places for the photocall, the group then held a minute's silence for the victims of the terror attack which took place during a pop concert in the UK in Manchester arena on the evening of Monday 22nd May.

The celebrations continued into the evening with a red carpet of famous faces from throughout the ages. Rather than the usual red carpet of glamorous figures from the world of music, modelling and film, this was a more a historical event with directors from every generation, alongside the actors and actresses from those generations and through to today.

Inside the venue, Delegate-General Thierry Frémaux welcomed guests on stage that included the 2017 Jury President Pedro Almodóvar, director Jane Campion, Mexican director Guillermo Del Toro, Mad Max director and 2016 Jury President George Miller and the 2016 Palme d'Or winner Ken Loach. French actress, Isabelle Huppert, then introduced a short film that looked back over her own illustrious career.

There will be plenty more red carpets moment to come over the final five days of the Cannes Film Festival 2017, with the prize winners to be announced on Sunday 28th May.
