Cracking beach clubs this Easter

Which Cannes beach clubs are open for Easter 2016?

Cracking beach clubs this Easter

As we get ready for the clocks to go forward this weekend so that we can enjoy the evening sunlight, we take a look at which beach clubs you can be enjoying over the Easter period.

Luckily, Cannes is a rather vibrant city all year round due to the numerous events and international conferences that are hosted there. The mild winter climate is also a draw for those who live further north and are looking for some winter sunshine. So it makes sense that many of the beach clubs in Cannes have their restaurants and terrace areas open all year round. However, that is certainly no substitute for a hot summers day when you can lay on your sun lounger, getting served cocktails and snacks as you soak up the rays, bronze your skin and wiggle your toes in the soft white sand.

One of the joys of visiting Cannes out of season is that things are a little quieter (except of course if there is a conference or perhaps an International Film Festival in town) and if you hit the right beach clubs on a sunny day then you'll find that they've laid out their sun loungers on the sand and won't even charge you for the pleasure of using them! Belle PlageLa Plage at Le Gray d'Albion Hotel, La MandalaPlage L'Alba Cannes and Le Rado Plage will all have their loungers out in good weather so consider these the places to go on a sunny day.

A few others open their doors before Easter such as the infamous Baoli BeachC Beach and Plage Croisette Beach who both opened during the first week of March, capturing not only the early season tourists but also the recent delegates of the MIPIM event

The majority of beach clubs are open all year as restaurants, such as, the Riviera Beach Club and Miramar Plage, but will sometimes be reduced to a daytime service, occasionally stretching to early evening during festive or holiday periods. But come summer they will be buzzing well into the early hours of the morning. Maema Beach Club and Plage du Festival fall into this bracket as they are open until after midnight during July and August.

Most of these will also only have their restaurant and terraces open during the day, with the beach area closed until perhaps mid April, such as the Plage l'Ondine, or even May as is the case with L'Ecrin Plage.

You will find that several of the beach clubs, for example, the popular La Plage 45 and Z Plage, will remain shut until mid April, when finally their doors will open for day after day of sunshine and night after night of glitz and glamour.
