Along with a strong swell that is expected to hit the Cote d'Azur coastline, heavy rain and winds are predicted inland across the South of France and specifically Provence.

As we saw earlier in October, heavy storms and flooding caused millions of euros of damage across the Provence region. Meteo-France has once again issued an 'orange alert' to the region for storms that are, this time, also expected to affect the whole of the Cote d'Azur coastline.

This afternoon should see a heavy swell and storm conditions are expected to last until at least Wednesday morning. With heavy rainfall and thunderstorms, residents are braced for the worst. A total rainfall of between 100 and 200 millilitres has been predicted but this is expected to be closer to 250 millilitres in coastal areas.

Rivers will also be in danger of swelling and bursting banks so take care when around river or coastal areas over the next 24 hours and consider where you are parking your car!
