Set to be completed by 2016 & 2017 renovations will focus on the commercial and retail side of the terminals, increasing space for retail outlets and seating areas.

In fact the work to be carried out in Terminal 1 will increase retail space by 160%, lounge areas by 70% and seating spaces by 60%, a huge growth! These changes are scheduled for completion and opening in May 2016. Terminal 2 will undergo similar growth with 110% more retail and commercial space and a 90% increase in seating, work due to be completed in May 2017.

So a long term project for the Nice Cote d'Azur airport. Management Board president Dominique Thillaud said, “This huge project, which involves a total rethink of the existing airport buildings, redesigns terminals 1 and 2 and builds a new extension to create a seamless passenger path, bigger operating areas, greater traffic capacity and a more dynamic retail area. It's an ambitious plan that offers the group, its clients and partners exciting prospects.”

The airport in Nice is seen by most as the gateway to the French Riviera and as such has become increasing busy over the years. These plans reflect that growth and change, and offer passengers the chance to shop at the iconic Riviera brands right up to the moment they board their plane, or to enjoy a real Mediterranean meal before departure.

Work is due to being at the airport in 2015.
