Hollywood superstar Richard Gere is coming to Cannes for MIPCOM 2018, the international media get-together that will take place from October 15th to 18th.

The Pretty Woman actor will be presenting his newest project, BBC's MotherFatherSon series. This eight-episode drama tells the story of Max (Gere), an American businessman, his ex-wife Kathryn (Helen McCrory) and their son Caden (Billy Howle) whose "self-destructive lifestyle spirals out of control". The star seems quite happy to be returning to the small screen: “It’s been almost 30 years since I worked in television. I’m so pleased to be working now with the BBC on this extraordinary 8-hour project with such talented people and which resonates so much to the time we live in.”

Gere won't be the only Hollywood star to grace Cannes' TV market; Ben Stiller will present his latest project as a director, Escape at Dannemora, at MIPCOM. The Pier, by the creators of Netflix phenomenon Money Heist, will also celebrate its world premiere in Cannes, as will Russian show Trigger and Japanese millennial drama Way Too Kawaii!

Other TV personalities who will travel to Cannes for MIPCOM 2018 are chef Jamie Oliver, Insecure creator Issa Rae, The Walking Dead actor Colman Domingo, The Vampire Diaries star Kat Graham, as well as representatives for big platforms like Facebook or Hulu.
