From circus acts to fruit celebrations there is plenty going on in the South of France this February to get you and about along the Cote d'Azur...

Biennale Internationale des Arts du Cirque
22nd January - 22nd february

Hosted in Marseille, this International event will see circus acts from around the globe converge on the French Riviera to entertain and thrill audiences in towns and villages along the coast. From trapeze and magic to burlesque and dance this festival reflects the diversity of aesthetic and current writings of circus arts.

La Fete de la Chandeleur
2nd February

Crepes, crepes and more crepes...sweet and savoury, plain and stuffed! This is a the day to eat as many delicious crepes as you can and not feel bad about it. Or how about making your own! They can be tricky to make but you'll have the satisfaction of flipping them and then filling them with what ever you desire.

Nice Carnival
13th February - 1st March
Not quite Rio but the Nice Carnival is a sight to be seen! With colourful parades and huge floats with building sized animated characters, dancers, musicians and a MASSIVE atmosphere, Nice is the place to be for these two weeks of celebration in the second half of February.

Grande Fete du Citron
14th February - 4th March
A celebration of all things citrus in the beautiful town of Menton near the Italian border. Dancers, music, fancy dress, floats, a parade, stalls and markets, all culminating in one big street party with concert and fireworks. Menton has a warm micro-climate that allows it to grow vast numbers of lemons, oranges and tangerines. You may well be shocked at the sheer quantities used to celebrate this particular festival!

Festival International des Jeux
27th February - 1st March
Each February Cannes hosts a three day games festival, bringing together people of ages and walks of life to enjoy those well-love classic board games alongside cutting edge simulations. Right in the heart of Cannes at the Palais des Festivals you can join in the fun and test out some of todays most innovative games. The festival also incorporates the International Bridge Festival - the worlds largest official tournament!

So whatever your area of interest, there is something for you to enjoy this February in and around Cannes...from eating and drinking to music and dancing, or from circus to citrus, it's time to get out there and see whats on!
