Confirmation of August 15th events in Cannes
Changes to the coming weeks events schedule
In a press release from David Lisnard, Mayor of Cannes, he has expressed his wishes to maintain planned celebrations for Monday 15th August, the French national holiday. In order to do so and to ensure appropriate security measures, several other events have been postponed.
The main change is that the fireworks planned for Monday 15th August as part of the Cannes Fireworks Festival, will now take place on Tuesday 16th August. This change has also meant that the open air film screening planned for the Tuesday 16th, will now be postponed until Thursday 18th August.
All other events, from the flower parade in Cannes La Bocca on Sunday to the Square Dansant on Wednesday will remain unchanged. The procession and outdoor mass on Monday will go ahead as planned.
The main concern has been to maintain security levels and optimise the police forces available. Additional reinforcements have been organised for the fireworks display on 16th August.
