About Trains in Cannes
There is a good train service between the main towns and cities in the PACA (Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur) region.
Cannes' main SNCF railway station is located in Cannes-La-Bocca on rue Jean Jaurès, and serves some of the major French cities, including Paris, Lyon and Marseille, as well as smaller towns and villages in the French Riviera.
For information about getting to Cannes by train read our guide to national and international train services.
The local train service is run by SNCF-TER (Transports Express Regionaux), search for PACA region on the SNCF-TER website (PACA is Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur) for up-to-date timetables. To view the local network, use this map of the train services showing the stations and routes available.
The small tourist train 'Petit Train' from the Palais des Festivals takes you around the main sights of the beautiful town of Cannes. Journeys take about 35 minutes and trains run every 30 minutes throughout the summer months.
Several of the other towns close by also run a similar Petit Train, for example there is one in Grasse, which runs between April and October and takes you round the Old Town, Place aux Aires, Place de l’Evêché square and Bishop’s Palace (Palais de l’Evêque) and the Cathedral.
