Gordon Ramsay in Cannes
Superstar chef is keynote speaker at MIPCOM 2017
Having become one of the first TV chefs to win global fame, the multi-talented, award-winning and fairly scary Gordon Ramsay will be at MIPCOM 2017 to talk about the conference theme 'The global race for creative connections.'
Scheduled for Monday 16th October 2017, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay will be at MIPCOM to reveal the motivation behind the TV personality, his views on enduring appeal for audiences around the world, how he maintains his brand across both his restaurant and media empires, and ultimately his plans for the next 25 years.
This is not, however, Ramsay's first visit to the Cannes Croisette and the MIPCOM event. He was working as a chef on the yacht of late Australian TV supremo Reg Grundy, during the 'Neighbour's' heydey. "I remember being positioned about 400 metres from the beach in Cannes and this little tender kept coming back and forth ferrying all these VIP guests. Then after that we did an amazing dinner. So to come back to Cannes, full circle 25 years later knowing what I know now in TV, it’s quite an exciting trip because I haven’t been back since", says Ramsay.
Initially starting his career as a footballer, trialling for the Scottish premier league team Glasgow Rangers, Ramsay then turned his talents to food and culinary creations. He is still best known for his inflammatory personality and expletives in the TV series' 'Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares', 'Hell's Kitchen' and 'The F Word'.
