The ever graceful Italian actress Monica Bellucci will serve as the master of ceremonies for the 70th Cannes Film Festival, taking over from French comedian Laurent Lafitte.

Bellucci, former model and Bond woman, previously served as master of ceremonies in 2003 and was also a member of the jury in 2006. Her return to the Film Festival in 2017 was announced on Monday by Canal Plus, the exclusive broadcaster of the Cannes Film Festival ceremonies.

The Italian-French actress has worked on American blockbusters such as the Matrix and 007 Spectre, as well as the comedy, Asterix and Obelix Meet Cleopatra, and working with directors, including Alain Chabat, Francis Ford Coppola, Mel Gibson, Spike Lee and Rebecca Miller.

This year’s Cannes Film Festival is set to run 17th to 28th May.
