Covering an area of 10 hectares, a vineyard has stood on this site since the 15th century when the Ière family owned it.
Their goal has consistently been to produce a high quality red wine based on a Syrah-Cabernet Sauvignon blend that makes it comparable to a cross between a Bordeaux and a Rhône style wine. There is also a full bodied rosé wine and one white.
Located between the Mediterranean and the massif de l'Estérel, they have 30 hectares of vineyards. They grow typical Provençal grape varieties, such as Tibouren, Mourvèdre, Grenache, Syrah and Rolle.
Located right in the middle of Provence, between Lorgues and Draguignan, Château Roubine is one of the oldest wine estates of France. Spread on 320 acres, with 178 acres of vines, the estate produces a range of red, white & rose wine, from young & fresh to older more complex vintages.
Situated close to Les Arcs in the Var, the appellation covers 18,000 hectares and uses both new and old vines to produce both complex & delicate wines, with a selection of younger fruitier wines.
Their two estates lie about two miles apart but all their wines are made in Fontlade. Thus, the Côtes de Provence comes from a plot which stands at the westernmost border of the appellation.
