An easy bike ride through the Mimosa fields between Cannes and Grasse
The best time to enjoy this circuit is actually in the winter. In January and February you get the chance to enjoy the full bloom of the mimosa, the entire Tanneron massif is dressed in yellow.
An easy circuit this is an ideal Sunday afternoon bike ride with the family, that can be taken at a leisurely pace. It takes around 1.5hrs to complete, or 2hrs if you are stopping to enjoy the views!
The wonderful Mimosa in full bloom - but only at the start of the year in January and February. The rest of the time you can enjoy the beauty of the farm fields, the views back over the coast, the small towns and the lovely Siagne Canal.

Starting in the town of Pégomas, cross the Siagne Canal on the D109 road and soon after on the right, take the small road towards Tanneron (the D309). After a 3km climb, you will reach the edge of the Var department. Here turn right (DFCI track) to go down a small road to the hamlet of Sausserons. At the first of the houses, turn right down a steep tarmac path. The track narrows and becomes rougher with more of a stone surface. Here you will descend among the fields of mimosas; it is recommended not to deviate from the route to avoid any conflict with local producers.
At the hamlet Cabrol, you reach a small road that follows the right bank of the Siagne Canal. Bringing you back to the bridge over the Siagne, opposite the village of Pégomas.
