So far, the lineup for the 69th Cannes Film Festival has been kept under tight wraps. Festival director Thierry Fremaux and his team, including jury president George Miller are still watching films and considering their options.

However, according to various news sources in America the financial thriller, directed by Jodie Foster and starring George Clooney and Julia Roberts, will screen at the Festival. This has not yet been officially confirmed but if it does go ahead then it will be Fosters second directorial contribution and would in fact be Julia Roberts' first time at the iconic film festival with a film.

Due to be released in the US on the 13th May the timing works well as the Cannes event takes place from the 11th to 22nd May 2016. In 'Money Monster' Clooney plays TV personality Lee Gates, who offers stock advice on his hit show, Money Monster. Trouble unfolds in real-time when he's taken hostage by a viewer (Jack O'Connell) who claims he's been ruined financially. Roberts playing the executive producer of the TV show and Clooney's love interest.

For now though we will have to wait for official confirmation of all of the films to be screened at the Cannes Film Festival 2016. With rumours already circulating the news will surely come soon...then we start thinking about who to look out for at this prestigious event.
