French President in India but Table Talk is all Cannes!
Francois Hollande has spent 3 days in India on an official state visit
Attending India's Republic Day celebrations, Hollande was joined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other top officials for the anniversary of India's constitution taking force in 1950.
After the parade, a prestigious lunch was hosted in New Delhi in honour of the French President's visit. It was attended by some of India's top politicians and businessmen, as well as the well known Bollywood, and Hollywood, actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Aishwarya was the only one from the film fraternity to attend the lunch, which was hosted by French Ambassador Francois Richier.
It is said that Hollande had asked the actress to join his table. The actress who has been in the midst of shooting her new film “Sarbjit”, took out time from her busy schedule to attend the lunch. Naturally conversation turned to film and the annual Cannes Film Festival that Aishwarya has attended in recent years. Apart from being a regular at the Cannes Festival, Aishwarya recently received the prestigious ‘Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters’, a civilian award by the French government.
