The second competition of the Official Selection of the Cannes Film Festival, the Un Certain Regard programme showcases works which offer a unique perspective and aesthetic.

The Festival de Cannes has announced that Uma Thurman will preside over the Un Certain Regard Jury at the 70th festival in May 2017. The American actress, known for her roles in Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction (Palme d’or winner, 1994) and Kill Bill (volumes 1 & 2), is no stranger to Cannes and to the red carpet as she was a member of the jury in 2011 when it was headed by fellow actor Robert de Niro.

Her filmography encompasses everything from action films to science fiction; intimate dramas to light comedies. This wide variety is a testament to her free and independent spirit, nurtured by her childhood in a hippy family. Whether playing crazy, sexy or dominant, the woman whose namesake is the Hindu goddess of beauty and light has definitely entered the pantheon of movie greats, with several of her scenes attaining cult status.

We look forward to seeing this classy actress on the red carpet. The 2017 Cannes Film Festival takes place from 17th to 28th May.
