In 1513, Louis XII stopped the buildint of homes near the wall to retain its defensive character. However, many small hamlets were built along its walls to house the growing population.

With items from prehistoric times, and fine arts and decorative arts from as early as the 17th century, all the way up to the first half of the 20th century.

After visiting the garden, join the D111 and turn left into Chemin de Corniche. After crossing the bridge of Foulon rejoin D111. Take the path on the outside of the first bend that heads north through the woods. When it hits the road take a left then the first right and continue along Chemin du Champ de Tir.
Continue along this road for some time until you reach a junction next to a gocart track. Take a right here then take the path immediately right. You soon join the Aqueduc du Foulon. Follow this back west to pick up the trail leading back to the starting point.
