Club des Dauphins Swimming School
Swimming lessons for everyone from 4 years and up
Based in the public beach of Bijou Plage in Cannes, this swimming school on the Côte d'Azur has been in operation since 1962 and is led by Thierry, a fully qualified skiing, swimming and fitness instructor.
From 15 June until the beginning of September swimming lessons are available for children, teens and adults alike. You will find a warm welcome and friendly atmosphere.
Group lessons are for kids and teens up to the age of 17 and are split into 4 different ability levels - the minimum requirement to join the lowest-ability group lesson is to be able to swim at least three-four strokes unaided, lesson times depend on the level of ability. (NB: Certificates and medals are presented on Saturdays and/or Sundays depending on which is the last day of their schooling).
Private lessons are available in all swimming strokes and diving from the ages of 4 and last from 20 minutes, one lesson per day is recommended. With a private lesson, they begin by testing you/your child's ability in the water. Private lessons are also ideal for adult beginners and intermediates who are looking to improve their swimming strokes, learn lifesaving, swimming with fins, snorkelling etc. Private lessons are also available at your residence in Cannes and the surrounding area (in June, September, October and November only). Your pool must have an area where the instructor can stand with his head above water in order to assist the learner in the water.
Activities are also held at the swimming club every Sunday morning at the end of the private and group lessons. In addition to this, they can test long distance, against the clock and lifesaving tests, and if successful everyone is awarded a certificate and a medal recognising their level of ability. You can also test your metal by swimming between 25m and 10,000m.
